Our Story
CitySpaces is a leading provider of community planning, development consulting and engagement services in communities throughout Western Canada. Founded in 1985 by Linda Allen and Gwyn Symmons, and now led by Principals Jada Basi and Noha Sedky, we have long been committed to “building lasting, livable, and inclusive communities” with an enduring emphasis on social sustainability.
Anchored by professional planners, enriched by other staff with specialized experience in engagement, social policy, design thinking, and graphic design, we collaborate with our clients to solve problems, communicate ideas, and achieve successful outcomes.
Jada and Noha remain engaged in their own projects, while continuing to attract equally enthusiastic early and mid-career professional planners. We see continuing economic growth in our markets and are poised to pursue all opportunities.
Our Values
CitySpaces’ values determine how we consult with clients, colleagues, and with each other. Our values, together with the Canadian Institute of Planners' Code of Professional Practice, define what we stand for and how we approach our work.

Our purpose is to turn the experience, skills, and creativity of our interdisciplinary team into lasting value for our clients and the communities in which we consult.
