September 30th marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day gives us all the chance to recognize and reflect upon the legacy of Canada’s residential schools, acknowledge the injustices of their tragic history, and honour Orange Shirt Day as a vital part of the reconciliation process. We remember the Indigenous children who were sent to Residential Schools and never returned, and honour the Survivors, their families, and their communities. #HealingPathForward – not just today but every day.
For those who need, there is support available through the National Residential School 24-Hour Crisis Line at 1-866-925-4419. And to learn more about residential schools and truth and reconciliation, please visit https://nctr.ca/
