As a guest of Canadian Housing & Renewal Association (CHRA), Jada Basi will present at the CHRA’s 2015 National Housing & Homelessness Congress specifically speaking to A New Planning Guide On Managing Expiry of Social Housing Operating Agreements.
The Expiring Operating Agreement Planning Guide was prepared for BC Housing and the BC Non-Profit Housing Association by CitySpaces Consulting, offering a step-by-step planning process that housing societies can undertake to ensure their organization is ready for expiry, and what their options are both pre- and post-expiry.
In Winnipeg, Jada will facilitate two workshops, and present to the Aboriginal Caucus. The sessions will provide an overview of how to review agreements, determine the financial viability of a portfolio, and how to assess options pre-and-post expiry. Identifying risks, legal implications and models of shared service delivery and mergers will also be discussed. A facilitated dialogue towards identifying components to create a potential national guide for Canada will also take place. Look forward to seeing you there!
