Project Overview
CitySpaces was hired as development consultant for the Peachland Seniors’ Support Society to work with the District of Peachland in master planning a two-phased affordable seniors housing project. With over 50% of the population in Peachland over the age of 55, affordable seniors housing is a critical community need.
After developing a site phasing plan based on assessing community need, our team successfully led an application for BC Housing funding resulting in the construction of Phase 1 (74-units) in 2019. Soon after, CitySpaces successfully led a second application for BC Housing funding resulting in the construction of Phase 2 (73-units), to be completed in 2026.
Key Highlights
CitySpaces role on this project was varied, from supporting the District in the creation of a non-profit society (Peachland Seniors’ Support Society) to undertaking needs assessments and feasibility studies for the purposes of obtaining government funding. The result is 147 homes for seniors in need of rental housing.
