Project Overview
The District of Saanich retained CitySpaces to provide facilitation services for the Saanich Housing Strategy Task Force and prepare a Final Report outlining the Task Force’s recommended principles, strategies, and actions. The Task Force was formed as an advisory body to support the development of Saanich’s Housing Strategy and the recommendations contained in the Final Report represent the opinions and perspectives of Task Force members.
Key Highlights
The Housing Strategy Task Force was established to advise Council with actionable strategies aimed at increasing housing supply, improving affordability, and supporting diverse housing options to meet current and future community needs. The diverse group, a key element of the broader Housing Strategy project, convened for a six-month term. CitySpaces was engaged to facilitate the virtual Task Force meetings. With 18 members, our team designed an inclusive and interactive engagement process that encouraged respectful dialogue. We used Zoom breakout rooms and Mural boards to generate ideas and build connections, tools that proved effective throughout the six-month initiative.
